setup took a little time to get perfect. software provided didn’t work with my dell axim x51v but the latest drivers off the think outside website work well and once configured its a dream to use. im a 80+ wpm touch typer and the keyboard has no trouble keeping up. if you start typing before the keyboard has connected, it remembers and produces the text once connected. the size of the keys is fine for me though the backspace key is a little smaller than im used to. great tool for a pda or phone.

I don’t normally contribute to reviews, but feel it necessary to counter the overly negative comments here, as I have used this bluetooth keyboard satisfactorilty with both an HP iPaq PDA and more recently a Nokia E51 smartphone. Easy to set up, and it works ok !. And, now that the price has come right down, I think they are excellent value. However, by its very nature as an ultra compact folding keyboard, it is quite flimsy, so will need careful handling / looking after if you are to avoid breaking it.

I purchased this in 2005 for use with a Windows Mobile phone (the Audiovox). I hated the phone, and the keyboard was stashed away until I got a BlackBerry Bold/9000 is 2008. Sadly, it didn’t work with the Bold. In 2009, I tested it with an iPhone 3GS, no luck (Apple refused to support Wireless Keyboards). I am extremely happy to announce that this, arguably the best portable bluetooth keyboard ever made, works flawlessly with the iPhone 4! Probably the first time an item has made it back out of my junk pile, and definitely a keyboard that was way ahead of its time. Sadly it is no longer being produced (are you listening, iGo?)

Cheers

This is the fourth folding keyboard I’ve owned. The first, and best, was a Dell one that unfortunately only worked with my old Axim X51v – when I upgraded my PDA, it had to go. Since then, I’ve tried Freedom, HP and Think Outside bluetooth keyboards, and this is far & away the best one on the market. I’ve now used it over the last 3 years with 3 PDAs and have had no problems with any of them. Recently, it HAS started to show its age as a number of the keys have started being a little tempremental, so I’ve been looking to replace it. I’ve tried one of the roll up, smart cloth keyboards, but it was massively innaccurate for typing, whereas this one feels pretty similar to a small laptop. Sadly, Think Outside seem to have withdrawn the Stowaway keyboard, but no-one seems to have come up with a better product to replace it, so I suppose I’ll limp on with my aging one as it is so much better than anything else on the market.

Bought this very neat, quite robust little keyboard explicitly for use with my UK, Blackberry Pearl (tried 8100 and 8120) on Orange. Unfortunately despite the claims and indications of Think Outside/Mobility Electronics, it will not work with these phones… well, not unless you have a version of the operating system that seems to be only available in the USA(!) and most definitely not on Orange UK. Sigh(!).
